Awarding Green Solutions for Cities

Courtesy of the respected companies.

As green solutions for urban settings become a necessity, the awards program i-NOVO honors innovative companies Aponix, Tolerie Forezienne and ZinCo.

The Aponix Vertical Barrel by Aponix won the design award with its vertical farming system incorporating barrels. It generates an aerosol or drip irrigation inside each barrel and has two nutrient options: hydroponics or aquaponics. It fits into the current trend of a new type of urban microfarm for herbs and lettuce and is designed for better water distribution. A hanging version is also available. Read the Q&A with Marco Tidona, inventor of the Aponix Vertical Barrel on Indiegogo.

Tolerie Forezienne won the design award in the architecture and design realm with its Botanic Twist, a bench with integrated planters to liven up the streets. To take green even further, ZinCo earned the eco award for its urban climate roof system, an extensive, flat green roof system.
