In 2014 a team of designers kick virtual reality in design up a notch. It’s called Gravity, the perfect solution to visualize your ideas from the first sketch. Composed only of a pen, a pad and augmented reality glasses, Gravity puts designs in 3-D form while drawing.
“Adjusting the plane in which you sketch, you give volume to your creation,” London-based Oluwaseyi Sosanya from Sosa designs explains on his website. “The augmented reality glasses let you and your collaborators see what you are creating.”
CAD remains a leading tool in 3-D content generation, but only generates perfect shapes. No room for imperfections, meaning imagination loss.
“This is where imagination is defeated,” Sosanya. “There is much lost in the process of moving from 2-D to 3-D.”
