Are you ready to turn your summer into something unforgettable? To trade the lecture hall for mountains, sawdust, and starlit conversations? Welcome to Cabin Fever 2025 — the international summer school and festival of architecture happening from July 23–31 in Česká Kamenice, Czech Republic. This is not just another architecture program — it’s an immersive, hands-on design-build experience that will ignite your creativity, grow your network, and challenge everything you thought you knew about learning.
Brought to life by Hello Wood, the award-winning design and build studio redefining architectural education, Cabin Fever is a playground for bold ideas, raw materials, and the kind of quality time that builds not just structures, but lifelong friendships. Whether you’re a student of architecture, design, or simply someone who loves creating with your hands, this is your invitation to join an international tribe of future-makers and dream-builders.
What Makes Cabin Fever So Unique?
Over the course of 8 intense, inspiring days, you’ll work side-by-side with world-renowned architects like Mamou-Mani, Entropic, and Mjölk Architekti to design and construct full-scale timber cabins and experimental installations. Set in a hauntingly beautiful former textile factory nestled in the Czech forests, Cabin Fever merges history, nature, and cutting-edge architecture into one unforgettable experience.
This year’s theme, “Quality Time: Connection to Each Other,” challenges participants to rethink how space can foster human connection in an increasingly fragmented world. The goal is simple yet profound: create architecture that invites presence, community, and joy.

Real Work, Real Credit, Real Impact
Cabin Fever isn’t a simulation — it’s the real deal. Students who participate receive official university credit, along with a Hello Wood certificate, professional photo/video documentation, and a unique portfolio piece that stands out in any design job application. And if you come as a team with your own design proposal? You might just see your vision come to life, built with your own hands and backed by one kilometer of timber provided by the organizers.
What’s more, the whole experience is supported by VELUX, pioneers in sustainable architecture and daylight innovation. Their commitment to a greener, more connected world aligns perfectly with Cabin Fever’s mission — proving that great design can be both beautiful and responsible.
