French company Innovathèque, a master of using technical solutions in design, recently organized a materials exhibition during the Architects@Work fair in Lyon. After months of researching new materials that would respond to the needs of designers, architects and other creative professionals, Power Up: High Performance Materials provided more than inspiration.
The team revealed several materials including what is currently the lightest textile in the world (Amaike Super Organza), the Endless pen and a high-resistant, lightweight wooden tube called Lignotube. They compare the materials to superheroes—they both save us from otherwise unsolvable challenges, and Innovathèque’s products lead us toward the path of imagination and technological progress.
Super elastic or super flexible, ultra light, ultra transparent and/or intelligent, their “superpowers” stem from several years of research, analysis and development. The materials’ structure, surface and the association with other materials are examined, modified and experimented with to bring us these high-performance products.
