Pure: This Year’s Highlights at IMM Cologne

Pure: This Year’s Highlights at IMM Cologne

Once again IMM Cologne highlighted up-and-coming designs and designers. The Pure Talents Contest is a competition that promotes the work and talent of young, international designers who are still studying or graduated within the last three years. Here, you can find works that are experimental, provocative and unusual—a unique mix that stands out from IMM’s other prestigious exhibitors.

Another IMM segment, Pure Editions, is a platform for creative concept designers that gives visitors a “gallery of design icons and concepts of our time.” The 2018 Pure Editions focus is light, both decorative and techinical lighting. Featured designers included EMKO, with their SUNrise/set illuminator—a modern lamp that “puts the sun’s colors in the palm of your hand.” GERA Leuchten’s latest design, Light Shelves, load-bearing furniture elements combining room lighting, will also be showcased.

Highlights from the Pure Talents and Pure Editions:

Nocturnal Beasts by Yohay Alush, Cétoine by Alejandra Perini and Kiwi Bravo, Varjo by Umberto Garcia Design, Hyperreal by Pia Regenbrecht, Molly by Studio Pasternak, 60° by Svenja-Katharina Jakobs and Jonas Wansing, Indigoes by Adrianus Kundert, Blue Ruffle chair by Anne Schmiederer and more.
