The Good Plastic Company’s Debut at NeoCon 2025

The Good Plastic Company’s Debut at NeoCon 2025

The Good Plastic Company makes its debut at NeoCon 2025 with sustainable breakthroughs, new design collaborations, and a Declare Label milestone.

As NeoCon 2025 opened its doors to thousands of professionals in the commercial interiors industry, a first-time exhibitor is commanding significant attention on the show floor at THE MART. The Good Plastic Company—a sustainable materials pioneer based in Europe—is marking its entry into the North American market with a debut that’s more than symbolic. It’s a statement of scale, intent, and innovation.

The Good Plastic Company stepped into the spotlight with innovations that redefine the role of recycled materials in commercial design. Known for its signature surface material, Polygood®, the company used the world’s leading platform for commercial interiors to debut the nature-inspired Growth collection, celebrate a Declare Label certification, and announce a strategic collaboration with ergonomic design leader Humanscale

Together, these announcements form a compelling narrative about what the future of circular, scalable, and aesthetically compelling design looks like for architects and specifiers across North America.

Designing with Purpose: The Growth Collection and Declare Label Milestone

The centerpiece of The Good Plastic Company’s NeoCon showcase is the new Growth collection—an eight-pattern series developed with Gensler as product design consultant. Drawing inspiration from natural textures and formations, the collection includes evocative designs such as Cliff, Oyster, Frost, and Gossamer. Each pattern reflects a studied translation of organic structures into commercial surface solutions, making them ideal for hospitality, retail, education, and workplace environments. From tabletops and vanities to flooring and wash basins, the panels deliver versatile beauty grounded in biomimicry and sustainability.

Equally significant is the announcement that Polygood® has officially earned the Declare Label, confirming its Red List Free status and solidifying its credibility among designers prioritizing transparency and healthy material selection. This certification joins a robust list of environmental credentials, including Cradle to Cradle® Bronze certification, an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), VOC A+ rating, food safety certification, and ISO-compliant quality and environmental management systems.

With these achievements, Polygood® meets the performance demands of the contract design market and advances the materials conversation by demonstrating that circularity and compliance are not mutually exclusive.

High-Performance Sustainability: Polygood® Surfaces and Technical Versatility

More than just visually compelling, Polygood® represents a technically advanced material solution for the challenges of today’s commercial design landscape. Manufactured entirely from 100% recycled and recyclable plastics—sourced from items such as old electronics, CD cases, and refrigerators—the panels are non-porous, abrasion-resistant, moisture-resistant, and thermoformable. These attributes open up possibilities for use across vertical and horizontal surfaces, in both high-traffic public settings and finely detailed interiors. With full customization available in color and pattern, designers can balance environmental responsibility with brand-specific aesthetics and functional demands.

Polygood® also distinguishes itself through its life cycle performance. The material’s Global Warming Potential clocks in at just 487 kg of CO₂ per ton, offering up to 13 pounds of CO₂ savings per square foot when compared to industry-standard materials. For architecture and design professionals working toward embodied carbon reduction or LEED and WELL certification goals, this represents a practical path to climate-conscious sourcing without compromising on design freedom.

At NeoCon, visitors engaged with large-format panels, curved edge finishes, and material demonstrations that emphasized the aesthetic and functional adaptability of the product.

Strategic Collaboration: Polygood® Joins Forces with Humanscale

Extending its NeoCon footprint beyond THE MART, The Good Plastic Company will be featured in Fulton Market Design Days through a notable partnership with Humanscale, a recognized leader in ergonomic furniture solutions.

This collaboration introduces the Float Micro—a compact, height-adjustable table topped in the Oyster pattern from the Growth collection.

Fusing Polygood®’s sustainable surface innovation with Humanscale’s human-centered design ethos, the Float Micro is a tangible demonstration of how circular materials can integrate seamlessly into the most refined product ecosystems.

“Partnering with Humanscale and making our NeoCon debut signals real momentum for us,” says Diane Barnes, President, North America for The Good Plastic Company.

“We’ve proven that recycled plastic can be as beautiful and versatile as traditional high-end surfaces—and now our goal is to bring these products to market at scale.”

With its vertically integrated manufacturing model and a clear focus on research and development, the company is well-positioned to serve commercial projects of any size. This partnership reflects a broader industry shift toward durable, low-impact design solutions that don’t sacrifice quality, performance, or visual impact.

In a NeoCon year marked by future-facing innovation, The Good Plastic Company’s debut is a bold commitment to a design ecosystem where beauty, sustainability, and industrial viability coexist. For professionals specifying surfaces in hospitality, workplace, and beyond, Polygood® offers a compelling new material category defined by both conscience and capability.
