Events Calendar 2020—An Update Following the Coronavirus Outbreak

Since the Coronavirus outbreak, a number of trade shows have been canceled and/or postponed. In this article, you’ll find the list of major events that our media outlet planned to cover this year with an update as to whether these events are canceled, postponed or maintained

Light+Building

The world’s leading trade fair for lighting and building services technology was originally scheduled for early March but it was postponed to a later date, reschedule to run from 27 September to 2 October 2020. +++ New date: Light + Building is CANCELED  for this year and will be held again in its normal sequence in 2022 +++

Design Shanghai

Design Shanghai is one of the world’s most prestigious international design events and Asia’s premier design event. It is scheduled for 12–15 March 2020 with no sign of alterations. It will be postponed to 29 November 2020.

Salone del Mobile

The world’s largest furnishing and accessories fair has been taking place in Milan, Italy, every year in April since its launch in 1961. Salone del Mobile has been CANCELED.

ICFF New York

New York’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair, originally scheduled to run from 17-20 May 2020, has been CANCELED.

NeoCon

Chicago’s international platform for commercial design, NeoCon is scheduled to take place 8-10 June 2020. The event has recently been CANCELED. It will take place next year 14-16 June 2021.

London Design Biennale

The third edition is CANCELED for this year and will take place in June 2021.

Big5 Dubai

This event is CANCELED for this year and will take place in 12-15 September 2021. The Big 5, an annual trade event connecting the global construction community in Dubai, is moving dates from 23-26 November 2020 and will be held next on 12-15 September 2021, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The new dates also apply to the specialized events that are held alongside The Big 5 – The Big 5 Heavy, Middle East Concrete, HVAC R Expo, Middle East Stone, The Big 5 Solar, and the Urban Design & Landscape Expo. With Dubai moving the 2020 World Expo to October 2021, the next edition of The Big 5 will come at a time in which Dubai is expected to enter an exciting new growth phase as it prepares to present an amazing showcase and a 21st-century city to the world.
