Light+Building 2024 in Frankfurt featured 2,100 exhibitors and 151,000 visitors, highlighting sustainable building tech and lighting innovations despite transport strikes.

3 – 8 March 2024—Light+Building 2024 concluded its six-day run, cementing its status as the global epicenter for cutting-edge advancements in building technology and innovative lighting design. Over 2,100 exhibitors showcased their latest offerings, attracting more than 151,000 visitors to Frankfurt’s exhibition grounds.

President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt, Wolfgang Marzin, expressed satisfaction with the event’s turnout, noting the vibrant atmosphere pervading the exhibitor booths and halls. However, Marzin also acknowledged the disruptions caused by recent transport strikes, underscoring the resilience of participants in ensuring the fair’s success.

Key themes at Light+Building 2024 included electrification and digitalization, with exhibitors unveiling infrastructure solutions for dynamic power control, energy storage, and connected security systems. The event also spotlighted advancements in e-mobility and decentralized energy supply systems, reflecting a broader industry shift towards sustainability.

In the realm of lighting solutions, LED installations dominated, offering both energy efficiency and aesthetic appeal. Acoustic Lighting emerged as a notable trend, blending lighting functionality with sound-absorbing properties while prioritizing sustainability in materials and manufacturing processes.

The event’s international appeal was evident, with attendees hailing from 146 countries and exhibitors representing 76% of the total. Despite challenges posed by transport strikes, Light+Building 2024 served as a testament to global collaboration in driving forward the agenda for sustainable building practices.
