Vibia introduces Class and Break Plus, two captivating lighting fixtures that redefine architectural illumination in 2023, merging elegant design with functional excellence.

In the ever-evolving world of lighting design, Spanish brand Vibia continues to make waves with its latest offerings, showcasing the seamless fusion of aesthetics and functionality. The year 2023 sees the debut of two exceptional lighting fixtures: Class and Break Plus, each bringing a distinctive blend of design and illumination to the forefront.

Break Plus: A Symphony of Light and Shadow

Vibia’s Break Plus emerges as an artistic expression that redefines the relationship between light and architecture. Crafted to seamlessly integrate with its surroundings, this luminaire transforms walls into dynamic canvases. Whether installed individually or arranged in groups, Break Plus comprises four geometric volumes that radiate diffused beams of light upwards, downwards, or both, creating a captivating interplay between light and shadow.

Addressing the challenge of illuminating pathways with character, lighting designer Xuclà’s creation offers an elegant solution that balances subtlety and impact. A continuation of the existing Break collection, this wall sconce showcases a stylized silhouette, presented across four distinctive models.

Equipped with concealed LED light sources, each unit can be controlled through an on-off switch or Dali control system for precise intensity regulation. The light washes gently upwards or downwards, casting mesmerizing reflections across the wall’s surface. When arranged in proximity, these luminous beams interact, weaving an intricate pattern of oblique lines.

Break Plus embraces versatility through a palette of four natural Chromatica colors, meticulously selected to harmonize with outdoor settings. With an added primer layer, the luminaire opens up a realm of color possibilities, ensuring seamless integration with any mounting surface. The matte lacquered finish complements its geometric form with a natural texture, while its robust design is tailored to withstand varying weather conditions. Ideal for residential and commercial settings alike, Break Plus is a testament to the marriage of form and function.

Class: A Harmonious Fusion of Form and Function

Sebastian Herkner, a master of timeless elegance, takes center stage with Class, a luminaire that marries the charm of classic design with contemporary functionality. Reminiscent of a bygone era, this reinterpretation of the classic lamppost introduces an elegant twist, integrating the appeal of a floor lamp with the utility of a bollard.

Challenging conventional lighting typologies, Class stands as a bridge between decorative luminaires and urban architectural lighting. Rather than blending into its surroundings, it asserts its presence with poise, emanating a gentle glow through its fluted cylindrical glass diffuser. This diffuser encapsulates LEDs that yield a soft, enveloping illumination, creating an atmospheric ambiance.

Sebastian Herkner, the creative force behind Class, explains, “Class emphasizes its architectural elegance in its vertical metal structure, as well as the soft waves in the borosilicate glass tube.”

The luminaire’s form captivates with its robust aluminum shaft, characterized by an industrial aesthetic that gracefully envelops the glass diffuser from both above and below. The juxtaposition of matte black aluminum and smooth glass surface creates a visually satisfying textural interplay.

The diffuser, crafted from translucent glass, features intricate grooves that softly filter the light, casting a comfortable and diffuse glow in transitional spaces. The luminaire’s intensity can be adjusted remotely, allowing for adaptable illumination that shapes the desired atmosphere.

Sebastian Herkner notes, “The structured glass spreads the light in a soft patterned way on the facade, the terrace and the greenery around.”

Class offers versatile configurations, available as a wall sconce or floor lamp in various heights, each equipped with individual or double asymmetrical diffusers. The luminaire’s driver remains discreetly concealed, emphasizing its sleek aesthetic.

Whether gracefully swaying in the breeze or emanating radiance from below, Class illuminates outdoor spaces with an enduring elegance that seamlessly merges form and function.

Vibia’s 2023 releases, Class and Break Plus, embody the brand’s commitment to innovative design that enhances both environments and experiences, casting light on a brighter future for architectural lighting.
