Spanish design company Masquespacio partnered with Essential Home to design a wide range of products: chairs, tables, barstools, lighting features. The collection was officially launched on May 10, 2021.
Hollywood Glamour is the new furniture collection by Masquespacio designers Ana Hernandéz and Christophe Penasse for mid-century modern furniture brand Essential Home.
Indeed glamorous, the products in the collection are too eye-catching to miss. It’s no wonder Elle Decoration and Architectural Digest Spain recognizes the Masquespacio designers as rising stars. We’ve also been keeping an eye on the design brand, notably during the Milan Design Week, for their amazing product designs but also for their marketing techniques.
The team at Essential Home contacted Ana and Christophe about partnering together to work on a furniture collection. Essential Home is located in Porto, Portugal. All of their products are handmade with traditional Portuguese techniques such as wood and metal working and excellent upholstery skills. The designers at Masquespacio had already been following the work of Essential Home, attracted to their products that have a unique aesthetic with an emotional factor and surprising details.

The mid-century modern furniture brand takes important historical and cinematographic references from the 1930s and 1960s and turns them into unique furnishing pieces.
“When Essential Home contacted us, since the beginning we were excited to develop some designs for them. For us, it is important that we feel connected with the brand that wants us to develop some items for them and this was the case,” Founder Ana Hernandéz and Co-founder Christophe Penasse of Masquespacio said in an exclusive interview with ELLE DECOR’s Young Talents.
The designers at Masquespacio have already been working with some Portuguese brands before beginning a partnership with Essential Home.
“We were highly surprised by the high quality of carpentry in Portugal, combining craftsmanship and technologies to create an outstanding production. We especially like to highlight the capacity of Essential Home to create a much more innovative design with singular forms and mixing different techniques that are highlighted amongst the many brands with an approach to Nordic Design,” Founder Ana Hernandéz and Co-founder Christophe Penasse of Masquespacio said in an exclusive interview with ELLE DECOR’s Young Talents.
Despite the challenge of working solely by virtual meetings over the last few months, the partnership between the two companies generated a strong connection. They share the goal of creating unique collections to surprise their customers, according to the designers during the interview with ELLE DECOR.
