We attended the press lunch “La Table de SWiiNG” with Fermob at the Labo Cultural Project in Milan for insights into the brand’s dancing portable lamp, its new outdoor kitchen, its first indoor sofa, and more.

On Wednesday, April 9, we walked into the Labo Cultural Project at Via Bielle 6, Milan, to discover a wide variety of exquisite products on our way to attend the press lunch with Fermob. La Table de SWiiNG allowed us to see how the portable dancing lamp fits interior settings as well, a nice touch to prepare guests for the company’s introduction to its first-ever interior sofa.

We’d previously gone to the Salone del Mobile to see the new products presented by Fermob. For the outdoors, the team showed us the GOOSTO outdoor kitchen and CROISETTE chairs; for the indoors, they introduced the NUAGE desk and offered a preview of the brand’s first-ever indoor sofa.

La Table de SWiiNG: Dancing like Ella Fitzgerald

The press lunch with furniture and lighting manufacturer Fermob took place at Labo Cultural Project, host to many exhibitions during Milan Design Week. At this prestigious location, a haven for design delights, the Fermob team invited us to dine at a well-dressed table whose white tile surface welcomed artistic vases and accessories to create a relaxing ambiance. Dancing on the tabletop, each place setting had its own SWiiNG lamp, and a cheerful cluster of the lamps gathered at one end of the table like guests at a soirée. The atmosphere, as luminous as it was lighthearted, set the tone for a lunch rich in creativity and collaboration.

This multisensory experience was curated in collaboration with IDE (International Design Expeditions), whose globally inspired concept for the meal echoed the essence of cross-cultural exchange. François Leblanc and Elisabeth Marinier of Labo welcomed guests with plates inspired by IDE’s international residencies—Italy, Cambodia, Sweden, and Poland. The result was a fusion of Cambodian and Italian flavors reflecting IDE’s mission: connecting young designers with master artisans to generate socially and environmentally conscious design. The ceramics on the table, all IDE originals, grounded the culinary journey with stories of place and process.

Baptiste Reybier, Managing Director of Fermob, opened the meal with reflections on the company’s evolution:

“We like to say that Fermob’s DNA is simply expanding into new territories. Not only the garden but lighting, accessories, and interiors.”

That ethos was embodied in the SWiiNG lamp itself, designed by Tristan Lohner as a tribute to shared meals, crafted glassware, and the golden age of jazz.

“It’s not just an object—it’s stories,” Tristan Lohner shared. “It’s a very cheerful, playful, and dynamic piece. It lights up the conversation.”

SWiiNG is more than just a pretty light. It’s part of Fermob’s ongoing commitment to eco-design. Built to be disassembled, repaired, and recycled, it continues the brand’s three-decade philosophy of joyful, sustainable innovation.

“It has a very feminine silhouette,” Lohner explained, “like the evening cones of the jazz stars of the 30s, like Ella Fitzgerald. It dances and lights up when you tilt it.”

Built for both home and hospitality, the SWiiNG combines elegance and innovation: a milk-glass-inspired diffuser, cast aluminum base, intuitive tilt control, and 10-hour autonomy.

Indoors-Outdoors: Outdoor Kitchen, Indoor Desk, and First-ever Indoor Sofa

At the Salone del Mobile, we spotted our preferred portable dancing lamp placed delicately around the Fermob stand—on the tray of the indoor mirror, on stools, and tucked into unexpected corners. Through the known, we discovered the unknown. Across from the setting of an entryway, Fermob displayed its new GOOSTO outdoor kitchen in a custom Cactus green. This marks a bold expansion into outdoor culinary living. Designed with a sleek aluminum frame and a stone-effect HPL worktop, GOOSTO comes in three configurations: Essential, Gourmet, and Generous. Each variation offers a different level of prep space and versatility. It officially launches in September 2025, in Cactus and Red Ochre hues.

Also turning heads was the CROISETTE range’s evolution. Now joined by new dining chairs and bridge chairs, the line designed by Pascal Mourgue carries the Provençal charm of the traditional “Crozeta” pattern. Its aluminum structure and hand-woven polyethylene seat blend modernity with weather-resistant lightness, ideal for indoor-outdoor transitions. These pieces arrive on the market in October 2025, in four subtle shades: Black Cherry, Cactus, Clay Grey, and Liquorice.

Inside the home, NUAGE floated into the scene, a poetic desk inspired by drifting clouds. It features an oak-veneered top and delicate steel legs, complete with a 360° rotating shelf and hidden storage. Available in Fermob’s full 25-color palette from September 2025, NUAGE transforms the workspace into a serene retreat.

And quietly making history: Fermob’s first-ever indoor sofa, not yet part of the press release but unveiled in preview at the fair. While the final upholstery options are still being selected, the design is locked in—an unmistakably Fermob blend of comfort, fluid lines, and flexible living. With this addition, Fermob signals a confident new chapter: indoors, at last.
