At Light + Building 2026, PROLICHT explored the origins of creative work. Through dialogue, spatial experience and a portfolio structure inspired by the design process, the brand demonstrated how new ideas take shape from the very beginning.

At Light + Building 2026, PROLICHT used this question as the foundation of its entire presentation. Under the guiding theme “Starting Points”, the Austrian manufacturer transformed its stand into a space dedicated to the early phases of creative thinking — where ideas are questioned, refined and developed into architectural lighting solutions.

Rather than focusing solely on product presentation, PROLICHT highlighted the mindset behind its work. The exhibition concept followed the brand’s guiding principle “designed to create”, positioning light not as an object, but as a medium that shapes atmosphere, perception and spatial identity.

A stand shaped by attitude, not spectacle

One of the central elements of the presentation was the introduction of PROLICHT’s newly structured portfolio. Organised into Points, Lines and Shapes, the entire product range now reflects the way designers conceptualise space. This intuitive structure aligns lighting families with architectural thinking and makes complex systems easier to navigate.

New luminaires, presented for the first time during the fair, further expanded the creative possibilities within this framework — reinforcing PROLICHT’s ambition to support designers from the earliest stages of a project.

Curated Atelier Spaces connected the digital lighting platform with physical material exploration, while a Hospitality Lounge created an environment for focused dialogue and new partnerships. The stand became less a showroom and more a platform for exchange.

Creativity thrives on exchange

Throughout the week, the stand hosted conversations and keynote sessions with internationally recognised creative professionals.

Among them were Chris Middleton and Carlo D’Alesio, who reflected on the early decisions that shape architectural projects and the role of light at the beginning of spatial thinking. Their dialogue emphasised that innovation often starts with questioning conventions and redefining perspectives.

The Swiss design duo ZweGiele, creators of the PLUQ IN luminaire, shared insights into the collaborative development process behind the product — illustrating how an initial concept evolves through continuous refinement into a realised lighting solution.

The presence in Frankfurt was further informed by PROLICHT’s evolving brand identity “Designed to Create,” developed under the creative direction of Annette Felicitas Häcki — reinforcing the idea that innovation begins with mindset.

An immersive light experience

Beyond talks and structure, PROLICHT created an immersive light experience, curated by D’Alesio&Santoro, that explored how lighting influences mood, perception and spatial identity. Carefully choreographed scenes demonstrated how modular systems, digital tools and production expertise translate creative ideas into tangible architectural outcomes.

In this context, “Designed to Create” became more than a claim — it was experienced as a working principle.

A starting point for what comes next

Light + Building 2026 marked another milestone in PROLICHT’s ongoing development. By combining new structural thinking, immersive presentation and open dialogue, the brand reinforced its role as a partner for architects and lighting designers seeking more than solutions — seeking starting points.
