Design Meets Power Supply

Design Meets Power Supply

Lacking in design appeal, power strips are usually hidden away. When Francesco Paolo Dolce, founder of design and technology company Woodie, was traveling in Bolivia, he saw a crafted wooden power strip and got to thinking. This triggered his idea of turning power sources into design objects and placing them out in the open to be seen and loved. Woodie launched a crowdfunding campaign last June and got to designing its revolutionary All-in-one Power Hub that combines two international sockets and earned a 2016 A’Design award.

The Woodie Hub suits appliances from 150 countries, two USB ports, wireless Qi charging, and an ambient LED light all within a compact, stylish 135 mm x 135 mm x 36 mm box. Woodie created the power hub with a number of finely crafted 8 mm thick outer shell options in natural materials including various woods, marbles and concrete.

They created a line of Wireless Charging powerbanks and covers and will soon follow with a multifunctional PowerHub.
