Lithuania-based office furniture manufacturing company Narbutas is expected to complete the construction of its new factory by August this year and install new technologies in its factory by September.

Office furniture manufacturing and trading company Narbutas International is building a new  21,800m² factory in Ukmergė town, Lithuania. To expand the existing 36,600m² and increase production capacity by 2.5-3 times, the company is investing 25 million Eur.

According to Petras Narbutas, the group’s founder and CEO, the new coronavirus pandemic has affected the economies and businesses, but the company’s consistent strategy – a wide network of trading partners and exports to different parts of the world – allows it to look at the future with optimism.

“The pandemic has hit the office and office furniture market quite hard. We are no exception it has also affected us, our sales decreased. Nevertheless, we are in a stable situation and we believe that perhaps already next year when the pandemic will be under control, our sales and production volumes will rise again. That is why we want to use this time for our development and expansion.”

In 2019, the consolidated sales revenue of Narbutas amounted to 98.8 million Eur and 2020 – 93.4 million Eur.

The new factory building will be equipped with technologies that will ensure a more efficient production process, will secure even higher production quality and allow to offer new office furniture, expanding the categories of seating, acoustic and non-standard furniture.

Due to the changing needs of employees towards work-spaces, these categories of furniture are becoming more and more relevant in the modern office – there is an increased demand for quiet areas for relaxation and concentration, as well as for spaces for informal teamwork and collaboration.

Therefore, the manufacturer strengthens the range of these product groups and introduces new acoustic furniture to the customers. Narbutas has expanded acoustic pods Silent Room collection with a model of glass rear wall inserts and updated modular system My Space, the acoustic screens of which can be connected to form enclosed workplaces in open type offices. And at the beginning of this year, the company introduced novel sustainable acoustic partitions Round Pet – they are made of 50% recycled plastic and are recyclable.

In addition, NARBUTAS is also strengthening its position in the lounge furniture category – soon a new collection called SOFT ROCK will be presented. The novel modular lounge seating system, created together with Danish designers duo Christina Strand and Niels Hvass, reflects a free, home-like and ever-changing environment that unleashes human creativity. Therefore, SOFT ROCK, inspired by the new generation, brings more freedom, mobility and a relaxing approach to everyday work.

Construction of the new factory is expected to be completed in August this year, and the installation of first technologies in September.
