Designer Luca Nichetto recently released two new sitting objects for the Paris-based La Manufacture, a brand and boutique that Nichetto helped to conceptualize with its founder Robert Acouri

Allié is a two-in-one piece that can be both a stool and a side table. Its design is a representation of bold aesthetics, an object personified by two curved arms resting assertively on its sides. The stool and side table is molded in polyurethane foam, and the curved metal handles that link the top to its base make Allié easy to move around. The handles’ metal finish provides a contrast with the matt texture of the body. The contemporary colors, a palette aligned with the aesthetic DNA of La Manufacture, highlight the playfulness of the design. Allié can be placed both indoors and out.

The Val outdoor chair is meant to add a contemporary accent to all types of exterior spaces. The deep concave body of the chair is offset by angular edges. It stands out on its own or grouped in organic clusters. La Manufacture’s website  likens these bunches of lawn chairs to “mushrooms sprouting from the ground after the rain.” The Val chair is rotation-molded in high-quality plastic, giving it a simple shape. It is available in vibrant colors with glossy or textured finishes, with dimensions of 62 cm high, 80 cm deep and 108 cm wide.

The playful simplicity of these two chairs aligns with the philosophy of La Manufacture to create fashion and design that is sophisticated yet welcoming. The Paris boutique intends to create a space for meetings, where everyone can feel comfortable. In an interview with Goodmoods, designer Nichetto said:

“I didn’t want to design a shop that people were afraid to enter, but I wanted to make sure that from the outside you could see enough of the interior to be attracted.”

To create La Manufacture, CEO Acouri brought together both Nichetto and Milena Laquale, La Manufacturer’s art director and head of the fashion collection.
