Professionals at World of Modular provide AI-based solutions as examples of the digital evolution within the modular market.
April 7–10, 2025 — World of Modular 2025 returned to Las Vegas, bringing in fresh ideas in modular construction and new opportunities for fellow exhibitors and attendees. Held at the Bellagio Resort & Casino, this annual convention and tradeshow attracted over 1,500 international professionals from 32 countries, designed to help attendees connect with speakers and exhibitors to refine business models and improve workflows.
From keynote speakers to panels focused on risk-taking and unconventional design thinking, this event presents a new era where digital strategies within modular construction are no longer just necessary—it’s constantly evolving. As modular construction continues to shift, worldwide companies are increasingly embracing the digital aspects of their operations.
Here are three digital innovations and strategies in modular construction presented by participating professionals at the event.
Using Merlin AI for Construction Projects
Audree Grubesic, Founder of OffsiteDirt and Chief Revenue Officer at Merlin AI, gave a presentation alongside Merlin AI CEO, Sneha Kumari at WOM2025 Las Vegas to explain how Merlin AI uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help modular construction companies proceed with more efficiency and accuracy. The session summarized how Merlin AI supports construction companies by improving work structure through the content they access the most.
“Merlin AI can work as a construction software chatbot and sync platforms from modular construction companies. Merlin AI was created and coded with AI itself, using tools like ChatGPT directly from your browser based on the pages you dedicate the most time to, and will then pull out that information as a reminder without manual inputs from your end,” Audree Grubesic stated.
Merlin AI is known for delivering AI-automated answers directly on the page by summarizing YouTube videos, replying to emails, writing content, or explaining code without needing to switch to another app.

Real-world examples show how Merlin AI collaborates with modular construction companies to run more sustainably. Here’s how Merlin AI executive team members, Grubesic and Kumari, share Heith Bibby’s, CEO of Mandeville Modular, story of how he uses Merlin AI to keep up the efficiency and reliability of his company: How AI is Transforming Modular Construction | Mandeville Modular & Merlin AI
RebelDFMA, Using AI for Digital Designs of Modular Buildings
RebelDFMA, formerly known as RebelConcept, began in Poland and expanded across Europe as an offsite construction firm. Today, it operates globally with a multidisciplinary approach to modular building. RebelDFMA is now using AI to enhance how modular buildings are digitally designed before they’re built. Using all three digital tools— Autodesk Revit, Dynamo BIM, and Python coding—RebelDFMA is improving how quickly and accurately home designs can be developed.
Kris Droszcz, CEO and Founder of RebelDFMA, shared at WOM2025 Las Vegas how AI is a big key for efficient and sustainable modular manufacturing. He explained that using Dynamo BIM and Python within Revit helps automate repetitive tasks, like designing window facades or other structural elements. This speeds up the design process, minimizes manual work, and ensures consistency across projects, making it easier to deliver modular buildings.
“RebelDFMA does things a bit differently. What I’m going to show you is how design tools like DFMA, use Python scripts created with AI to produce projects quicker. It’s all about making it easy to pull key details like the amount, cost, and type of supplies straight from the model,” Kris Droszcz stated.
As RebelDFMA continues to expand, AI has improved Rebel’s software to work more efficiently, accelerating its programming, file organization, and development. With Python, they’ve developed a range of custom Revit add-ons, specifically AI helping speed up the scripting process through Python coding.
RebelDFMA is also using Dynamo BMI to create a structural workflow when combining and creating each geometrical pattern for the 3D-dimensional modular building. This process supports each module building to fit the necessary site during construction, including the right measurements. Here are two examples of the modular constructions RebelDFMA created using software tools like Autodesk Revit, where AI was implemented:
This video demonstrates how a software, PyRevit, AI-generates Python scripted codes to combine into Revit, improving efficiency for creating 3D projects; an example method RebelDFMA is constantly developing: Getting started with pyRevit!

International Collaborations In The EU Modular Market
In recent years, the EU modular market has increasingly collaborated with international partners—especially in the United States—by sharing new approaches to design, regulation, and offsite construction methods. These exchanges are helping overseas companies develop more cost-effective solutions for building across borders.
Bostjan Jevsek, International Business Development Director of Piva Group S.P.A., attended WOM2025 Las Vegas to explain where he breaks down the challenges within the EU modular market:
“Modular construction in Europe has been growing fast—mainly because it saves time and cuts waste. You can build off-site without you being there in person, which speeds everything up. Also, modular buildings are reusable and lasting which adds value to the product. Of course, the market has its challenges, but that makes it more important for us to prove how determined we are to overcome them,” Bostjan Jevsek stated.
Today, Jevsek is actively planning the next development strategies for the modular construction industry to increase success in international opportunities for Piva Group S.P.A.
